 Introduction to Noun

“A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, idea, action or quality.”

A Proper Noun refers to the specific name of a person, place, or organization.

  • Always begins with a capital letter

  • Not used with articles ‘a’ or ‘an’

  • Singular in number

 Common Noun (เคœाเคคिเคตाเคšเค• เคธंเคœ्เคžा)

Refers to general names, not specific.

  • Not capitalized unless at sentence start

  • Can be singular/plural

  • Used with articles a/an/the

Represents a group of people, animals, or things as a single entity.

  • Usually treated as singular

  • Takes singular verb: "The team is ready."

  • Sometimes takes plural verb in US English

Refers to physical substances used to make other things.

  • Uncountable

  • No plural form

  • Not preceded by a/an

  • Cannot be used with numbers directly
